The Western Independent featured a regular quarter page feature in the sports section, of caricatures and cartoons drawn by Shaw Baker. This one, from December 1932, includes Walter Barnes and Barrie Bennetts - both founder members of the Orchestra. This was in recognition of their support for sports through fundraising concerts.
