James Ladner and Jane Chirgwin married 4th May 1833 at Paul
They left Cornwall in 1849 after the christening of their son, Henry -with enough money to start a new life in America.
His mother-in-law Rebecca Chirgwin (née Hichens), and other family members, travelled with them.
